Shirahama Ohama Beach

Atami Sun Beach
This Atami City sightseeing spot exudes a resort-like atmosphere with its beautiful sea, beach and palm trees. Sunrise on the horizon, beach illuminations and fireworks held more than ten times a year also make this an attractive destination. In June, visitors can walk along the Jacaranda Promenade under the fragrant purple flowers in full bloom.more
Though pure white sand meets a gorgeous emerald green sea at this swimming beach, the number of visitors here is lower than other beaches. With some of Japan's highest quality water and gentle shallows, this beach also makes a good location for collecting shells and snorkeling. Kisami Ohama Beach
Kisami Ohama Beach's translucent sky blue sea and white sand stretching some 770m give it a relaxed, almost mature-feeling that is popular with visitors. Nearby you can find numerous English speaking cafés in addition to the famous Ryugu Sea Cave and a sand skiing area among other sights.more
Located at southernmost Minamiizu Town, Yumigahama Beach forms a great arc. The roughly 1.2km beach known for its gentle seas and shallow shoal is one of Izu's three most beautiful beaches and has even been selected as one of Japan's 100 best beaches. It is also the location of an international open water swimming competition.more
One of the best beaches in western Izu, this one is about 700m long and known for shallow water and gentle waves. Boasting the highest water quality ranking in Japan, this beach is ideal for families. During summer, visitors can enjoy "Toi Onsen Maru", small fishing vessels converted to hot springs, in bathing suits. At rocky Odoi Beach, you can also enjoy collecting shells.more
